All these Shark Teeth found at Caspersen beach in One day

As the unofficial shark tooth hunting paradise, Caspersen Beach is the place to score some serious fossilized finds. Caspersen is just one of the many nice beaches in the area where you can find fossilized shark teeth. This is probably the most popular beach in Venice, but recently our niece and her boys from Tampa liked going to Manasota Key Beach to find shark teeth, so during a recent visit from NJ we ended up going to both beaches. Found on Florida’s Gulf Coast down the strip of shoreline considered Venice Beach, Caspersen Beach is a gem of its very own.

This beach is so fun because it's so unique- there are lots of rocks right along the shore like and a huge walkway across the sand, making for some great views!

To me, the search is the fun part, but my three- and six-year olds much prefer to bring them home, wash them up, and try to identify from which shark each originated. 2017-12-14 Oh and there’s a ton of sharks teeth on the beach! Read more. Date of experience: April 2021.

Caspersen Beach touts itself as the Shark Tooth Capital of the World. It’s the place where many of the local, experienced shark tooth seekers go looking for these prehistoric treasures in the sand. Teeth from Lemon Sharks, Sand Tigers, Reef Sharks, and Bull Sharks are commonly found here. Then they sit on the beach and sift through, looking for their prizes. Other fossil parts, bits of coral, interesting shells or small pebbles may catch the eye, but it is likely that at least one or more teeth will be found in most large scoops.
